John D Cirrinicione, Esquire
John D. Cirrinicione was born and raised in Cape May, New Jersey. His interest in trial law was sparked during his freshmen year at Wildwood Catholic High School, when he was selected for an attorney role in the New Jersey Bar Association’s Mock Trial Program. He later led his team to becoming Cape May County Champions, and was awarded a college scholarship by the Cape May County Bar Association in recognition of his efforts.
Mr. Cirrinicione continued his education at Penn State University, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a minor in Law & Liberal Arts. At Penn State, Mr. Cirrinicione was involved in Greek life, athletics, and student government.
As a trained legal representative for the Judicial Branch of the Undergraduate Student Government, Mr. Cirrinicione regularly served as trial counsel for students at disciplinary hearings. As Captain of and the 198 lb fighter for Penn State’s Judo Team, he went an undefeated 5-0 in the Eastern Collegiate National Tournament. He has since earned his black belt in the art. Mr. Cirrinicione was also a founding member and brother of the Phi Lambda Chapter of The National Fraternity of Alpha Chi Rho.
Mr. Cirrinicione completed his legal education at Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. In addition to earning his Juris Doctorate, he was the only member of his graduating class to earn a Concentration Certificate in Trial Advocacy with Honors. His continued participation in student government led to Mr. Cirrinicione being elected Student Body President. He was also selected as a Member of the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honors Society. As a third year student, Mr. Cirrinicione led his team to becoming Champions of Widener’s Hugh B. Peirce Intra-scholastic Trial Competition.
As a result of his involvement at Widener, Mr. Cirrinicione was asked to serve as a Director on the Board of the Alumni Association of Widener Law. He regularly judges first year oral arguments, mock-trials, and moot-court competitions, in addition to participating in the lawyer-student mentor program.
Prior to becoming an associate with Leonard, Sciolla, Hutchinson, Leonard & Tinari, Mr. Cirrinicione served as law clerk to the Honorable Raymond A. Batten, J.S.C. for the Criminal Division of the Superior Court in Cape May County, New Jersey. As a law clerk, Mr. Cirrinicione also received training as a civil mediator.
As an associate of the firm, Mr. Cirrinicione focuses his practice in a variety of areas involving civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury, workers’ compensation, employment law, and municipal torts. When out of the office, Mr. Cirrinicione enjoys playing drums, guitar, golf and tennis, in addition to training in various forms of the martial arts.
