The new overtime pay regulations go into effect as of December 1, 2016. Employers must be aware of the requirements under these regulations and take the necessary steps to avoid violating them. Employees should also make themselves aware of the regulations because their eligibility for overtime compensation may change as of December 1st. The regulations impact any employer with executive, administrative, professional, outside sales, or computer employees. Further, job descriptions for all of those types of employees at a particular business should be in writing as well as accurate and complete.
