Security Breach of Reporting Services Requires Increased Consumer Vigilance

Security breaches like the recent hack into credit reporting service Equifax can have impacts for years. It’s estimated that more than 140 million Americans had their personal data stolen in this cyber crime, the company revealed.

“What this really means for consumers is that we will have to be hyper-vigilant about our financial matters,” says attorney Michael V. Tinari. “This data could be used for a long time, and that could be devastating to consumers in terms of identity theft.”

“We all need to be looking at our bank and credit card statements more frequently,” adds Mr. Tinari.
If you’ve been impacted by a security breach that resulted in identity theft, or stolen credit card info which then caused you financial losses, you may be eligible for compensation.
